ABOUT JOCELYN TORRES
Meet Jocelyn
BACKGROUND
Jocelyn Torres was born and raised in Stanly County and is a proud product of its public school system. From an early age, her family instilled in her the core values of hard work, honesty, and community uplift. Growing up, Jocelyn saw firsthand the realities of working families, often balancing school and extracurriculars while helping her mother clean houses and buildings on weekends. This early exposure to the economic challenges facing working-class families sparked her lifelong passion for civic engagement.
A dedicated student and leader, Jocelyn graduated from Albemarle High School before earning her undergraduate degrees in Political Science and Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. While at UNCG, she participated in the Model United Nations Club, competing in numerous conferences and winning the "Best Position Paper" award multiple years in a row. Deeply committed to service, she also volunteered with local non-profit organizations, including Real World English and New World Institute, helping teach English and literacy skills to adults and their children. In 2023, Jocelyn made history in her family by becoming a proud first-generation college graduate.

Making history once again as the youngest woman to run for North Carolina House District 67, Jocelyn is dedicated to bringing authentic, hard-working leadership to Raleigh. As your representative, Jocelyn is committed to building a stronger community.
